It wasn’t always a work of art, but the Nevada football team held on for a thrilling 37-35 win Saturday over Pac-12 visitor Oregon State.
After building a 30-7 lead in the second quarter, the Wolf Pack offense began to go silent. Oregon State (1-2) closed the gap to 30-21 at halftime, which was followed by a scoreless – and, at times, sloppy – third quarter.
That set the stage for a heart-stopping final quarter. After the Beavers cut the margin to 30-28 on a 1-yard run by Jermar Jefferson, Nevada (2-1) was able to respond with its final points of the game.
