The architect of an improved Nevada football defense could be moving on.
Nevada defensive coordinator Brian Ward, who has spent the last two seasons with the Wolf Pack, has accepted the same role at Washington State, according to a report by FootballScoop.
Neither Nevada nor Washington State has confirmed a possible move for Ward.
This season, the Wolf Pack has been one of the country’s most opportunistic defenses, ranking high in turnovers (25, eighth in the FBS) and interceptions (13, 25th). Nevada’s pass rush has also been effective, compiling 40 sacks (seventh), led by 10 from All-Mountain West first-teamer Tristan Nichols.
