Timmy Chang, the former record-setting quarterback at Hawaii and Nevada’s first-year inside receivers coach, played at Mackay Stadium twice during him historic career and remembers both games vividly.
“Not very fond,” Chang said of his memories of Mackay. “I can still remember big number No. 55 coming off the edge and blasting me in the back a couple of times. We took some 'L's over here. It was always a great environment, it was always a tough team. We talk about ‘Nevada Grit’ these days and trying to be tough-minded and we're trying to get this team to where Coach (Chris) Ault had those guys back then.
