First quarter
Buffalo opened with the ball and went three-and-out when Collin Lisa dropped a third-down pass. Nevada also went three-and-out on its opening drive following three straight passes. Buffalo then got on the scoreboard first following a 41-yard touchdown pass from Joe Licata to TE Matt Weiser. Nevada SS Asauni Rufus, who leads the Wolf Pack in tackles, missed a tackle on the play to spring the long score. A holding penalty put Nevada behind the chains and a dropped pass by Wyatt Demps on third down forced a punt. Buffalo moved the ball to Nevada’s 21, but back-to-back holds led to a punt.
