The Wolf Pack should hope Jay Norvell’s first recruiting class turns out better than Brian Polian’s first class.
Polian's first class in 2013, a 22-player haul, only included nine players who finished their eligibility at Nevada. Of the other 13 players, three were medically disqualified, four transferred and six quit.
Norvell’s first class also is expected to include 22 players – he announced 20 on signing day Wednesday and has two more spaces available. The new Wolf Pack coach only had 51 days from when he was hired until signing day, although more than half of those were during a dead recruiting period, which gave him precious little time to put together his first class.
