The Mountain West announced Thursday a portion of its football schedule for the 2016 season.
There were no real surprises on Nevada's schedule, which opens Sept. 3 at home against Cal Poly in the renovated Mackay Stadium, which is undergoing an $11.5 million face lift this summer. Nevada then travels to Notre Dame for a guaranteed-money game Sept. 10. A home game against Buffalo (Sept. 17) and road game at Purdue (Sept. 24) close out the non-conference schedule.
The non-conference schedule will net $875,000 for the Wolf Pack, which is getting $1 million to play at Notre Dame and $400,000 to play at Purdue (Nevada is paying Cal Poly $375,000 and Buffalo $150,000 to play at Mackay).
