Nevada quarterback Tyler Stewart took the snap, read the read-option play, tucked the ball in and raced around the right tackle before sprinting up field for 16 yards before Wyoming’s Kevin Prosser launched into him.
Prosser drilled Stewart’s left shoulder and the Wolf Pack senior smashed into the turf with his right shoulder taking the full force of the impact.
“I knew something was wrong,” Stewart said. “I didn’t necessarily know it was this bad.”
The hit snapped the two ligaments that held Stewart’s collarbone to the shoulder, causing a grade three separation at the AC joint.
