Pack's leading tackler suspended for first half vs. SJSU

The Wolf Pack will be down starting strong safety Asauni Rufus for the first half against San Jose State.

Rufus was ejected in the second half of the Fresno State game for targeting a Bulldogs’ receiver with a helmet-to-helmet hit. This is the second time a Nevada player has had to miss time following a targeting.

Defensive tackle Rykeem Yates, who was not ejected from a game against Buffalo in which his hit occurred, was suspended the following game after the Mountain West reviewed the play in question.

Nevada coach Brian Polian said Monday he did not agree with the call or the lack of an appeals process.
