Four years ago, Kim Anastassatos' daughter was given two options after catching a greased pig at a county fair: she could take a modest amount of prize money or take the pig home.
Anastassatos’ daughter opted to keep the pig and while Kim, the head coach of the Nevada Wolf Pack cheerleading team, first thought the family might be able to keep Dirty, as they named him, at their home, he soon grew to an unruly 750 pounds.
“He’s like a cow,” Anastassatos joked.
So, instead of having him slaughtered and turned into the next morning’s breakfast, Anastassatos kept finding Dirty new farms to live on to spare him.
