Wolf Pack senior Justin Hazard has been named to the Johnny Bench Award watch list, the Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission announced. The award is presented annually to the top catcher in Division I collegiate baseball.
Hazard is one of two players in the Mountain West to be named on the watch list, joining San Diego State’s CJ Saylor.
Joining the Wolf Pack as a senior after transferring from UCLA, Hazard has been key to Nevada’s success this season. The 6-foot-2 native of Tustin, Calif., is batting .315 with 41 hits, 15 runs, 20 RBI and two home runs.
