Hall of Fame college football coach Lou Holtz once said, “I’d rather have a slow person in the right spot than a quick person in the wrong spot.”
To some degree that sentence defines Nevada’s Alex Bertrando.
The Wolf Pack’s senior linebacker, who at 6-foot-2 and 230 pounds is no lightweight and by no means slow, readily admits he's at an athletic disadvantage when he hits the field. But he makes up for that in other areas.
“I’m not the most talented guy out there or the biggest or the fastest,” Bertrando said. “I need to be really good at knowing what to do and how to react to make up for my lack of athleticism, I guess.
