FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The seventh seeded University of Nevada women’s tennis team lost 4-3 to 10th seed San Diego State in the first round of the Mountain West Championships on Thursday.
The Wolf Pack ended the season 8-11 while the Aztecs improved to 7-16 and advance to the quarterfinals.
Nevada earned the doubles team point winning the Nos. 1 and 2 matches. Claudia Herrero and Adriana Gergelyova started the match with a 6-3 victory on court 2 over Jana Buth and Paola Diazde Regules.
SDSU got a 6-2 win in the No. 3 doubles match from Kennedy Davis and Tami Nguyen over the Pack’s Sara Korzeniecki and Monika Magusiak.
