SAN DIEGO – The University of Nevada (8-6, 1-0 MW) women’s tennis team started Mountain West play with a 4-3 victory at San Diego State (6-12, 0-1) on Friday. The Wolf Pack, winners of its last seven, improved to 8-6 and while the Aztecs dropped to 6-12.
The Pack won the Nos. 1 and 2 doubles matches to earn the first team point. Blaga Delic and Sheila Morales clinched the point with a 6-3 win on court one. Adriana Gergelyova and Claudia Herrero won 6-4 at No. 2 doubles.
In No. 6 singles, SDSU’s Taylor Lederman defeated Delaney Phanco 6-2, 6-0 to tie the score at 1-1.
