LAS VEGAS – At this date last season, Nevada’s Tyler Stewart was preparing for a quarterback battle.
Then a junior, Stewart was locked into a three-man race with Hunter Fralick and Dante Mayes to start the season opener, a race he eventually won before starting all 13 games and taking all but a handful of snaps from under center.
As his senior season is about to begin, Stewart is in a far different place. Literally, he was at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas for Wednesday’s Mountain West media days. Figuratively, he was inked into a starting gig even after another quarterback battle ensued in the spring after a new offensive staff was hired.
