The Nevada athletic department is on track to turn a small profit in the 2017 fiscal year while rival UNLV is expecting a nearly $5 million deficit.
The two Division I athletic departments in the Silver State will present their fiscal year budget progress, among other things, to the Nevada Board of Regents next Thursday.
The Regents also are expected to authorize the school presidents to approve contracts for athletic directors and coaches; review the head coach and athletic director employment agreement checklist; review the school's annual statement of revenues and expenditures filed with the NCAA; and review the athletic competitiveness study commissioned by the Regents more than a year ago.
