STANFORD, Calif. – The Nevada men’s golf team improved by nine strokes from day one to day two at The Goodwin on Friday at the Stanford Golf Course.

Nevada’s round of 284 ranked in the top half of the field and was good for a tie for 11th with Pacific and Brigham Young heading into the last day.

UC Davis shot 8-under on Friday, and leads second place Stanford by 10 shots.

“We had a solid round today,” said Nevada coach Jacob Wilner. “No. 7 is a reachable par 5 and if we would have played that a little better we could have turned it into a great round.
