The 3-3-5 defense is coming Mackay Stadium.
Nevada hired Jeff Casteel as its defensive coordinator Monday, marking its second high-profile hire in as many days after the Wolf Pack added Matt Mumme as offensive coordinator Sunday. Casteel is expected to coach Nevada's linebackers.
Casteel, whose coaching career began in 1984, was an FBS defensive coordinator from 2002-2015, first at West Virginia and then at Arizona. Castell runs the 3-3-5 odd stack defense that emphasizes speed and blitzing.
“Proud to have Jeff Casteel as our new D.C. here at Nevada! #NevadaGrit” Wolf Pack head coach Jay Norvell tweeted Monday.
