LAS VEGAS – The presidents of the Mountain West will meet in person here Friday to discuss the controversial decision made in December to cut the conference basketball tournament from 11 teams to eight teams.

When the presidents meet, UNR president Marc Johnson will vote the same way this week as he voted three months ago: against the measure.

It has been widely reported that the MW presidents voted unanimously, 11-0, to remove three teams from each bracket. But Wolf Pack athletic director Doug Knuth told the Reno Gazette-Journal Thursday that’s not accurate. Nevada voted against the measure.
