IRVINE, Calif. – The Nevada baseball team fell short in its series opener against UC Irvine, suffering a 4-1 setback on Friday at Anteater Ballpark.
The Wolf Pack falls to 3-3 on the season after the Anteaters (3-3) snapped its three-game win streak.
Nevada scored the game’s first run in the fourth inning, but UC Irvine rallied with four straight runs to notch its first home win of the season. Senior LHP Christian Stolo took the loss on the mound despite allowing just one earned run in five innings of work. Senior Justin Hazard and sophomore TJ Friedl led Nevada with two hits apiece.
