Nevada football coach Jay Norvell will reunite with a former colleague on the Wolf Pack sideline next season.
Former NFL linebacker Jackie Shipp has been added to the Wolf Pack staff as the team's defensive line coach, the university announced Tuesday.
Shipp played at Oklahoma, where he was a two-time all-Big 8 selection, before being drafted with the 14th pick in the 1984 NFL draft by the Miami Dolphins. Following his NFL playing time, he began along coaching career at both the college and professional levels, including 14 years as Oklahoma's defensive line coach.
Shipp and Norvell were coaching colleagues during five of those seasons (2008-2012).
