Notes: Butler breaks 1,000 yards but suffers head injury

News and notes from the Wolf Pack’s 46-16 loss to San Diego State on Saturday.

* Junior RB James Butler passed the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the second straight year, although the Wolf Pack’s running game was shut down. Nevada ran the ball 34 times for 90 yards. Butler gained 32 yards on 14 carries to become the seventh Wolf Pack running back to post at least two 1,000-yard seasons in his career. He is two yards shy of being the ninth Nevada player with 3,000-plus rushing yards in his career.

Butler suffered a head injury late in the third quarter and didn't play in the fourth quarter.
