Despite Nevada suffering its fifth straight loss Saturday at Fresno State, head coach Jay Norvell said he was pleased with the progress he saw in quarterback Ty Gangi, who will start again this week versus Hawaii.

Gangi completed 31-of-48 passes for 253 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions in the 42-21 loss to Fresno State. Nevada accumulated only 314 yards of offense, but Norvell touted Gangi’s completion percentage – the 64.6 percent mark was the second best for a game in his career – and said the interceptions were in part on Nevada’s young receiving corps.

“I think Ty made a lot of progress in his performance,” Norvell said.
