MESA, Ariz. – Junior Trenton Brooks hit a first-inning home run before Northwestern plated the game’s final five runs, handing Nevada a 5-1 setback in the second game of a doubleheader at Sloan Park. Nevada falls to 0-2 on the season with a pair of losses Friday with two games remaining in the four-game series.
“I think our starting pitching in both games gave us a chance to win and that’s all you can ask for from those guys,” said head coach T.J. Bruce. “Offensively, we need to learn to make better outs and be more aggressive when the time calls for it.
