After Nevada’s season-opening 72-19 rout of Portland State last Friday, Wolf Pack coach Jay Norvell took the first game ball and handed it to a man who wasn’t even in attendance for last year’s season opener.
That ball went to Kalei Meyer, a most unlikely starter at center in the first game of his final season at Nevada. Without his trademark perseverance, persistence and pride, Meyer wouldn't even be in Reno right now.
