SANTA CLARA, Calif. – With an 8-7 win over UConn and a 4-1 victory against host-Santa Clara on the first day of the SCU Invitational on Friday, the Nevada softball team has now won eight-consecutive games and is off to the best start in program history.
Freshman Brooke Bolinger picked up her fourth victory of the season in the first game and junior McKenna Isenberg went the distance and struck out 11 in the second for the Wolf Pack (10-2). It was Isenberg’s second-straight 11 strikeout performance, matching her career high for a third time. Senior Megan Sweet went 4-for-8 on the day and sophomore Amanda Nicholas went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and a go-ahead grand slam in the first game that set the tone for the afternoon.
