Nevada softball hits 7 homers, wins twice

LAS VEGAS – The Wolf Pack softball team trailed late in both of its games on Saturday but used timely hitting and clutch pitching to win twice on its first day at the DeMarini Desert Classic in Las Vegas. Nevada scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh and won the first game in extra innings, 8-7, against UC Davis, before topping UTEP, 8-5, in the nightcap.

Sophomore Chase Redington tossed two innings of scoreless relief with three strikeouts to earn the victory over the Aggies for the Pack (5-2). Junior McKenna Isenberg registered her first complete game of 2016 to improve to 2-1 on the season against the Miners.
