SAN JOSE, Calif. – With about 12 minutes left in Nevada’s game Wednesday night at San Jose State and his team clinging to a one-point lead, Cody Martin took off his warmups and headed to the scorer’s table.
Martin, who had started Nevada’s first 19 games while becoming arguably the team’s most valuable player, hadn’t appeared in the first 28 minutes of action. A strained Achilles kept him glued to the bench, where he sat as insurance in case Nevada struggled with the Mountain West’s worst team.
