LAS VEGAS — Nevada gave the tournament’s top seed all it could handle Thursday, but a decisive run and some missed free throws were enough to put an end to the Wolf Pack’s season.
Boise State finished the first half with an 18-5 run to turn an eight-point deficit into a 38-33 lead, then held on for an eventual 71-69 win in the quarterfinals of the Mountain West men's basketball tournament.
The Wolf Pack had a shot to win at the buzzer, but a Kenan Blackshear three-pointer jumper hit the rim and bounced away, and the clock ran out a second later.
