It’s not the most glamorous assignment ever, but Nevada interim athletic director Bill Johnson knows he has an important role to play.
Johnson, who's the university’s vice president for advancement, has led Wolf Pack athletics since Nevada fired Doug Knuth on April 20. It’s a role Johnson anticipates having until at least July 1, when the school hopes to have completed an aggressive search and hiring process.
While on the job, Johnson is both overseeing the Pack’s spring sports efforts — including Mountain West championship appearances for multiple teams and athletes — along with getting the department ready to transition into the 2022-23 athletics calendar.
