Nevada football player arrested for soliciting a child for prostitution

Nevada football player Chris Green was arrested early Friday on for customer engaging in soliciting a child for prostitution and child abuse/neglect, according to the Washoe County Sheriff's Department booking report.

Both are first offenses for Green, 21, who plays defensive tackle for for the football team.

"Our department learned of this incident earlier this morning and we are working to gather more information," Nevada spokesperson Chad Hartley said in a statement to the RGJ.

Green has been suspended from the program.

Green (6-foot-2, 325-pounds) had 16 tackles last season for the Wolf Pack. He has 31 tackles in his career at Nevada.
