After reflecting on the intense, stressful and powerful events of the past week -- the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, which led to the protests and rioting in Reno and around the nation -- Nevada football coach Jay Norvell issued a statement Monday sharing his feelings.
Norvell, entering his fourth season at Nevada, wrote that he waited a week after the death of Floyd so as not to be reactionary and to discuss the events with his players and assistant coaches.
Norvell wrote:
"I feel that the images of the last couple of weeks have hit all of us to the core.
