As the final seconds dripped off the clock at Sam Boyd Stadium on Saturday afternoon, Wolf Pack offensive lineman Jeremy Macauley sprinted toward Nevada's locker room to find the prize he and his team had waited 13 months to reclaim.
The 300-pound Macauley, a Reed High graduate whose passion for the Nevada-UNLV rivalry was exceeded by no player in Saturday’s game, ran as quickly as he could to retrieve the Fremont Cannon. Along with teammate Jake Henry, another Wolf Pack senior playing his final game in silver and blue, he dragged the cannon from the locker room to midfield, triggering a celebration from Las Vegas to Reno.
