The Nevada Boxing club team is getting off to an early start this season, with the first home card set for Thursday night at the Circus Circus Casino in Reno.
Nevada will have five boxers competing on the 13-bout card. The team is trying to establish a rivalry with Air Force Academy and the Falcons will have 12 boxers in action Thursday night.
Nevada coaches hope to make the card against Air Force boxers an annual fall event, the same way Army and Navy boxers face off annually.
Nevada did not have a national champion last spring for the first time in several years.
