Just two days after hitting bottom with one of its worst starts in recent seasons, things are looking up for the Nevada basketball team.
The Wolf Pack won its second game in as many nights Wednesday, thumping Washington, 81-62, to finish in a first-place tie at the Crossover Classic tournament in Sioux Falls, S.D.
As they’ve done many times, Nevada’s guard combo of Grant Sherfield (23 points) and Desmond Cambridge Jr. (21) led the Pack to the win. Big men Warren Washington (15 points) and Will Baker (10) also reached two digits in scoring.
The Wolf Pack improved to 3-4 with the win, beating the Huskies and George Mason at the Crossover event, while opening with a loss to South Dakota State.
