Nevada and UNLV met over the weekend as the leaders in the Mountain West baseball standings, and their three-game series in Las Vegas did not disappoint.
The Wolf Pack won two of the three games, using late-inning rallies in each, to close the gap on the Rebels. Nevada improved to 16-4 overall (9-5 in MW games) with 9-7 and 22-13 wins on Friday and Saturday, followed by a 9-8 loss in Sunday’s finale.
UNLV dropped to 21-11 overall; it's still in the top spot in the MW thanks to a 12-3 conference record, with Nevada second. San Jose State and Fresno State (9-6) are tied for third as of Monday.
