If it can make a statement Saturday in Big 12 country, the Nevada football team will also make some history.
Since joining college football’s top level in 1992, the Wolf Pack has never beaten two Power 5 teams in the same regular season. In fact, Nevada’s losses to teams from the power conferences — the SEC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12, and ACC — far outnumber the wins.
That trend has been changing in recent seasons, including this one, which already features a road win at Cal. If Nevada can beat Kansas State on the road Saturday, it will give the Pack a second Power 5 win in the same season for the first time.
