The Wolf Pack made a statement in its state championship game.
Nevada demolished rival UNLV, 51-20, on Friday night at Mackay Stadium in a game that really wasn’t even that close.
It was a thorough beating; Nevada never trailed; all three phases came up big for the Pack. Most importantly for Northern Nevada, the Fremont Cannon will remain blue for at least another year.
With its big win — its second straight over UNLV — the Wolf Pack improved to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in Mountain West games. The Rebels dropped to 0-8, 0-4 and have now lost 15 straight games.
