LAS VEGAS – There was a time when Boise State star receiver Thomas Sperbeck wanted to play for Nevada.
After all, Sperbeck would have been a legacy at Nevada after his father, Marshall, was the Wolf Pack’s starting quarterback in 1981 and 1982 under coach Chris Ault. And when the younger Sperbeck was a prep recruit, Ault was still Nevada’s coach.
“I really did want to go there at one point,” Sperbeck said of Nevada at Tuesday’s Mountain West media days in Las Vegas. “I went to a couple of camps there and I really liked the school, but they never offered me.
