Each week, RGJ sports writer Chris Murray will rank the Mountain West football teams. Here are this week's rankings, with each team's overall record, next opponent and a comment.
Comment: SDSU took care of business against Nevada and thus will host the MW championship game, but it did lose starting quarterback Maxwell Smith and key nose guard Christian Heyward, both to ACL injuries. Those were two of the most important players on the team. They're big losses, but the Aztecs are still a touchdown favorite against Air Force, a team it's beaten five straight times.
