Each week, RGJ sports writer Chris Murray will rank the Mountain West basketball teams. Here are this week's rankings, with each team's overall record, next opponent and a comment.
Comment: I'm not sure any team deserves the top spot given how non-conference play has shaken out in the MW, but the Broncos are playing good ball with five straight wins. Outside of a head-scratching season-opening loss to Montana, Boise State's only losses are to Arizona (twice) and Michigan State. Those are acceptable. At this point, and the race is tenuous, Boise State is the team to beat in the MW.
