Jay Norvell gathered his team to talk about goals for the season and laid out 14 footballs before them.
Each football was meant to represent one games this season. The fact there were 14 footballs showed confidence in his team. Nevada only has 12 regular-season games this year. To play 14 games, the Wolf Pack must not only reach a bowl but also the Mountain West championship game.
That quest begins Friday when Nevada opens the season against FCS opponent Portland State.
