Murray's All-Mountain West football picks

The Mountain West’s all-conference football teams will be announced Tuesday by the conference. I was one of the voters for the awards, so, in the name of transparency, here’s my ballot.

Offensive player of the year

Donnel Pumphrey, SDSU: Pumphrey rushed for 1,464 yards and 16 touchdowns and added 25 catches for 333 yards and two more scores. You could vote for Wyoming’s Brian Hill or SJSU’s Tyler Ervin, who both had great seasons, but Pumphrey was the best player on a team that went undefeated in MW play.

Defensive player of the year

Kyler Fackrell, Utah State: I actually wanted to vote for Utah State’s Nick Vigil, but he wasn’t nominated, so I went with Fackrell, his teammate in the linebacker corps.
