It’s foolhardy to draw firm conclusions on a football coach in his first season or two on the job.
Transition is difficult. That’s especially true for a first-time head coach like Nevada’s Brian Polian. A new coach’s early success is largely determined by what the previous coach left behind, both good and bad.
The honest truth is this: I don’t know how good of a football coach Polian is. Nobody does just yet.
But that uncertainty changes this season. This is the season we learn where Polian is taking Nevada. Is this a program on the rise?
