After weeks of operating with distinct tiers, there’s finally some major shifting going on in the Mountain West.
San Diego State, once one of the handful of teams trading places every week in the middle of the RGJ’s Mountain West basketball power rankings, has vaulted up to the conference’s top tier with recent wins over Utah State and, of course, Nevada. At 9-4 in conference games, the Aztecs are also just two games out of first place in the fight for the MW regular-season title.
