Future Wolf Pack football schedules will have a different feel to them, thanks to the Mountain West’s recent decision to scrap its divisional format.
Beginning with the 2023 season, Nevada will no longer play all the teams on its usual list of West Division opponents — Fresno State, Hawaii, San Diego State, San Jose State, and UNLV — every season. Instead, with the MW morphing into one big group of 12 teams, the Pack’s conference schedule will include more teams from the Mountain Division than it has in previous seasons.
The Mountain West’s changes will not affect the upcoming 2022 season, which will be the last to use the two-division format.
