When you’re a sophomore in college, you get plenty of emails.
They come from professors, friends and parents. There’s plenty of junk mail, too. You probably discard most of them.
But when Jordan Sperber was a college sophomore at Villanova, he received an email from an unexpected source, one he wouldn’t discard. It came from Eric Musselman, a two-time NBA head coach who was an assistant at Arizona State.
The subject line read, “Great Site.” The body of the text, in short, said, “Keep up the great work.”
It was a reference to the basketball analytics website Sperber created as a high school junior in 2010.
