With two titles already in hand, the Nevada men’s tennis team got to enjoy itself a bit Monday afternoon, knowing its history-making season was sure to continue.
The Wolf Pack gathered at Legacy Hall — along with some school officials, cheerleaders and even a mascot — to find out their first-round assignment for the 64-team NCAA tournament, which begins Friday.
Thanks to a Mountain West tournament title earned Sunday over New Mexico, Nevada already knew it clinched a spot in the NCAAs, the program’s first-ever appearance in the sport’s top college event.
That didn’t stop a loud celebration from breaking out, though, then the Pack learned it would play at powerhouse USC in the first round on Friday afternoon.
