College baseball fans could be seeing more of their sport at Greater Nevada Field on future years following a successful two-game experiment this week.
Nevada and national power Oregon State met in a wild, action-packed two-game series Tuesday and Wednesday at Greater Nevada Field, the first time regular-season college games had been played at the downtown Reno stadium that's home to the Triple-A Reno Aces.
The Beavers won both games by a single run, taking a 14-13 thriller in 11 innings Tuesday night — a 4-hour, 21-minute matchup that saw the Wolf Pack trail by as much as 11-0 — and winning the Wednesday afternoon finale, 9-8.
