Life after the NFL for Duke Williams starts with helping Reno kids reach their dreams

Ex-Hug High, Nevada and NFL player Duke Williams talks about his plans to open a student/athlete training center in Reno.

When Duke Williams was a kid growing up in Reno, he didn’t have the financial means to play Pop Warner, he didn’t have the family structure to lock down on his academics and he didn’t have the expert tutelage – certainty not from a former NFL player – to prepare himself for playing football at the next level.

Despite those challenges, Williams not only made it to college, where he starred for the Nevada Wolf Pack from 2009-12, he also made it to the NFL, becoming the second Hug High alum and 12th Northern Nevada prep player to be selected in the NFL draft.
