Nevada knew it would be getting a big dose of Big 12 football on Saturday in Manhattan, Kan.
Kansas State didn’t disappoint, sticking mostly to the ground and relying on elusive tailback Deuce Vaughn, who weaved his way for 127 yards in leading the Wildcats to a 38-17 win.
So it will be Kansas State (3-0), not Nevada, which will wake up Sunday morning wondering if it will be ranked in the two major national polls. The Wolf Pack dropped to 2-1 entering its first bye week of the season.
The Wildcats never trailed Saturday, although the score was tied twice (at 7-7 and 17-17).
